Korean Video Initiative

In response to the growing bellicosity of North Korea towards the United States, VOA’s Korean Service launched an ambitious new initiative to reach the North Korean population through video programming. With a rich array of news shows and cultural features, the new broadcasts present an authoritative analysis of U.S. policies as well as an authentic look at America and its diversity through lives of the Korean-American community.

One new documentary series focuses on Korean-Americans living in Palisades Park, New Jersey.  It is designed to inform North Korean elites of how Korean immigrants maintain their heritage, manage challenges of daily life, and ultimately thrive in America.  Published on YouTube and VOA Korean’s website, the series is intended for North Korean diplomats and workers abroad who have access to the internet.
